about
My name is Fernando Maneca. At my core, I am an artist/designer/storyteller. I have designed all manner of things: newsletters, books, mailers, posters, postcards, logos, websites, convention displays, signage, wayfinding, theatrical sets, costumes, soundscapes, video projections, and even a house.
As a child, I drew animals and cars. In high school, I took drafting classes, drew gadgets, houses, and my first logo. In college, as an architectural major, I drew all sorts of buildings and began creating posters and flyers. After college, I worked as an architectural draftsman. Then while in grad school, in exchange for composing a score for a choreographer/friend, he taught me Photoshop, Illustrator, and QuarkExpress. And thus my graphics career was born.
I have worked as an art director at an ad agency and as a marketing & communications director at a non-profit performing arts center. I have designed all sorts of marketing campaigns as well as fundraising events, artist services programs, and branded environments. I was recently hired as the Associate Director of Marketing & Communications at ArtsConnection.
My mission is to help service-providing businesses create, devise, and execute plans to explore, create, and deliver value to satisfy the needs of our community.
